Oddbjørg Reinton is a Norwegian painter based in Montpellier, France and for the last 20 years she's created an extraordinary canvas of paintings utilising a wide range of media from paint to sand and metal. A common theme indirectly links her inner most feelings with the fate of endangered species littered around the world.
Oddbjørg was invited to attend the 10th Ice Music Festival and create a series of works to compliment the festival's overall theme of a fragile Arctic. Painting directly onto huge blocks of locally harvested natural lake ice, Oddbjørg forged 4 incredible Polar Bear portraits. Set into the huge snow & ice's wall of Ice Music Festival stage's backdrop, the paintings gradually changed shape, tone and colour texture in direct reaction to the fluctuating ambient air temperature.
