Arctic light is one huge soft box, especially winter arctic light. The light wraps around all in its path, like relentless yet luxurious honey and creates the subtlest of shadows - they are present but all tonal range and detail is present.
Walking around Henningsvær pre-dawn, I increasingly looked like a snowman and I didn't think the cloud would break during sunrise. However the heavy snowfall stopped for 10 minutes leaving this rich creamy cloud to reflect the low sunrise. I took 4 frames as the colours changed their hue mix of orange, purple and yellow and then returned to base for breakfast. Yum.
